On September 15, 1961, The Pendletones – brothers Brian, Carl, & Dennis Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and their friend Al Jardine recorded three demos – Surfin’, Luau, & Lavender, in a recording studio set up in the living room of this house which was owned by music publishers Hite and Dorinda Morgan. The recordings can be heard on the CD called The Beach Boys: Lost & Found.
Also, in Brian Wilson’s autobiography, Wouldn’t It Be Nice: My Own Story he states that when he was ten years old he went to the Morgan’s house with a group of boys that were auditioning for Art Laboe’s Original Sound label. They didn’t pass the audition.
